The Barney Center will make the decision on granting financial hardship scholarships.
20% of all available seats per event will be reserved for financial hardship scholarships.
Scholarships are available for all attorneys.
The scholarships awarded range from a 50% to a 100% tuition reduction.
Attorneys who have been admitted to practice in any state and who are unemployed, employees in the public sector demonstrating need, attorneys who can establish financial hardship in a Statement of Need, or earning less than $30,000.00 may be granted financial hardship scholarships.
In granting scholarships, The Barney Center will apply the following formula in deciding on the amount of scholarship to award:
Unemployed: Full scholarship
Income up to $30,000: 50% discount
Income above $30,000: No discount
The Barney Center will evaluate all other applications based upon the following criteria: all sources of applicant’s income, all sources of applicant’s debts, applicant’s past employment, applicant’s present employment, number of applicant’s dependents, and any other considerations that demonstrate applicant’s financial hardship.
